Digital Design and Visualization Curriculum

Digital Design and Visualization students will learn about the role of digital technology in the design process. Students will explore how various aspects of design computing are applied in creating, analyzing, developing, and executing design ideas. Using the latest software applications, students will have the opportunity to explore with creativity and rigor the effective use of digital technologies. Areas of focus include:

  • 3D modeling and visualization
  • Environmental and spatial analysis
  • Digital fabrication
  • Building Information Modeling
  • New and emerging technologies
  • A wide variety of advanced applications in design computing
  • Digital imaging, presentation graphics, and web design
  • Professional digital design and visualization disciplines

The Digital Design and Visualization curriculum emphasizes creative, innovative problem solving within an interdisciplinary design environment. The curriculum covers a wide range of computing applications, design courses, and general electives. This breadth of inquiry allows students to pursue a course of study tailored to their own interests and career objectives. The Design Studies Practicum helps students connect their studies to applications in the workplace.
