Welcome to Federal Work Study
Federal Work Study (FWS) is a program whereby schools apply for, and are allocated federal funds to be expended each academic year in the form of FWS financial aid awards which allow students to work on campus and earn income which can be used to offset school or living expenses. These awards are given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need. In order to be considered for a FWS award, students must complete a FAFSA. Students with the greatest financial need, as assessed using the FAFSA, will be awarded FWS.
Any student that has been offered a Federal Work-Study award must plan to actively seek employment in order to maintain their award. Available positions are listed on the FWS Job Board. Because of the demand for FWS and limited available funds should you fail to find employment within a reasonable amount of time your award will be rescinded and given to another student. All students who have been awarded a FWS award will be notified by the Financial Aid Office within the first month of each semester.
By offering FWS awards, the BAC hopes to improve the sense of community between students, faculty and staff, increase the desirability of the BAC to potential students, and provide more funding to current students to make the BAC more accessible and affordable.
