Foundation Design A-2 studio builds on the understanding goals of Foundation Design A-1 studio. Through a series of progressively challenging exercises, students will focus on understanding design's relationship to the human body and human experience. Students will design spaces that heighten experience and highlight the interrelationship between site, the specifics of inhabitation and abstract ideas. In addition, professional-quality visual and oral presentation techniques will be introduced, leading to portfolio-ready design projects. The first night of class will include an important discussion of course goals and rules; therefore, attendance is mandatory. Registered students who are absent from the first night of class will lose their place in the studio and will have to look for replacement courses during the add/drop period.
