The BAC's Sustainable Design Certificate, which is the oldest academic credential in this subject in the United States, offers the most flexibility in course choices of the four certificates available from the Sustainable Design Institute. This certificate is appropriate for people whose backgrounds and interests do not fit into the focused definitions of the other three SDI certificates and for people who want the flexibility to design their own program from the full sustainable design curriculum.
The Sustainable Design Courses and Certificate Curriculum
To earn the certificate, students complete six courses in the program and maintain a cumulative B- average. The Sustainable Design Institute has a breadth of over thirty 8-week, online, graduate-level, courses in sustainable design principles and practices. A bachelor's degree is required for enrollment in the certificate program. Students who do not have a bachelor's degree should contact the Professional and Continuing Education Department.
