Commencement Eve Awards Ceremony
Thursday, May 19, 2016
Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury Street, Boston
6–8:30 pm
6 pm - Reception
7 pm - Presentation of awards begins
Commencement activities will begin with a special awards ceremony to recognize student achievements. This event will include refreshments in the BAC's McCormick Gallery and is an opportunity to view the impressive thesis and degree project work of our graduates. All are welcome to participate. Please be aware seating is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Welcome to the Alumni Association Brunch
Friday, May 20, 2016

10–11 am
As you cross the stage at Commencement you will join the ranks of a passionate and dedicated group of individuals, who collectively make up the BAC Alumni Association. Join your fellow graduates, alumni, and faculty in celebration of your accomplishments at brunch in Cascieri Hall (320 Newbury Street) before the Commencement ceremony. Please note that there is no cost to attend this event, but an RSVP is strongly encouraged. BAC alumni, faculty, graduating students, as well as friends and family of graduates are welcome to attend. Please RSVP here.

BAC Commencement Ceremony

11 am - All graduates are required to arrive at the BAC
1 pm - Commencement Ceremony begins
The BAC Commencement 2016 ceremonies will be held at Old South Church, 645 Boylston Street, Boston. All graduates are required to arrive to the BAC prior to the ceremonies to dress in their regalia, be a part of the 2016 graduate photo, and line up to parade down Newbury Street to Old South Church. The church doors will be opened for graduates' invited guests, who have their invitations, to enter and be seated in the main sanctuary. All other guests without invitations will be seated in Gordon Chapel where there will be a live-streamed video for folks to view. The ceremonies will begin to honor the achievements of all BAC graduates, we encourage our January 2016 graduates to return in May 2016 and participate in the commencement ceremony.
Seating for the ceremony is limited and RSVPs from graduates are required.

The Boston Architectural College is pleased to announce Moshe Safdie, world renowned architect, urban planner, educator, theorist, and author, as its 2016 Commencement Speaker.

Important Information for Graduates

Orders required
Friday, May 20, 2016 - Regalia robing in Cascieri Hall

Graduates will be emailed information on how to place their order for regalia and ticket requests during the Spring semester. Please be reminded tickets are limited (on average four invites per graduate). Orders for regalia and tickets are required to be placed by April 2016.

You will receive information regarding picking up your regalia prior to Commencement.

Immediately following the commencement ceremony, please return to Cascieri Hall at 320 Newbury Street to pick up your diploma.

BAC Class Ring
Honor your hard work with the BAC ring. Available in various styles and finishes, the design of the BAC ring incorporates the Cascieri beehive. The beehive is a symbol of the BAC's mission, designed with Dean Cascieri's ideal of community and work toward the common good.

Weekend Planning

Parking and Transportation
Trolley service will be available on Friday, May 20 to transport guests between Old South Church and the BAC. Metered parking is available on Newbury Street and surrounding streets. Garage parking may also be available at:

  • Pilgrim Parking, 50 Dalton Street
  • Prudential Center Garage, 800 Boylston Street

There are various hotels located nearby the BAC and Old South Church in the Back Bay neighborhood. It is recommended that accommodations be reserved as soon as possible, since it is a holiday weekend and there are many events scheduled in Boston. A listing of local hotels can be found here.

Dinner Reservations
There are numerous restaurants located in the Back Bay neighborhood. If you are interested in having dinner after the commencement ceremony, it is recommended that you make reservations in advance. A listing of local restaurants can be found here. You can also book with Boston's Open Table here.
