Alex Wilson is the president of the Resilient Design Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont, a nonprofit organization focused on resilience and adaptation to climate change. He is also the founder of BuildingGreen, Inc. and executive editor of Environmental Building News. He is author of Your Green Home (New Society, 2006) and coauthor of the Consumer Guide to Home Energy Savings (ACEEE, first edition, 1990, 10th edition 2012) and Green Development: Integrating Ecology and Real Estate (John Wiley & Sons, 1998). And he has written hundreds of articles on green building, energy, the environment, and resilient design. Alex served on the national board of the U.S. Green Building Council from 2000 through 2005 and received the organization's 2008 Leadership Award for Education. In 2010, he received the second annual Hanley Award for Vision and Leadership in Sustainable Housing. Alex is also an instructor with Boston Architectural College's Sustainable Design Institute and the Senior Mentor in the Masters in Design Studies - Sustainable Design.
