Barbara Smith-Bacon

As a vice president for Berkeley Investments, Barbara Smith-Bacon is responsible for a broad array of matters, including complex development and retrofit initiatives, major leases and asset management.

Barbara has over 25 years experience in the real estate industry, in development, project management and law. She is a graduate of The Colorado College and was a Thomas J. Watson Foundation Fellow. She graduated with her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law where she was an Editor of the Indiana Law Journal.

Barbara is an active volunteer and board member. She is a past President and Treasurer of New England Women in Real Estate, and has served as a co-chair of the United Way Real Estate and Building Industry Breakfast, Board of Directors of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, Advisory Board for the HomeAgain project in Worcester, and Board of Directors for the Friends of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, MA. She recently served on a Citizens' Advisory Group for a disposition of municipal land in Newton, and is now working on the RFP response selection committee for the City. She also sits on the BAC Finance Committee.

Barbara was elected a BAC Overseer in 2009. During her first term, she has been named to numerous committees and task groups relating to real estate, strategic planning, financial management, and campus and facilities resources.
