Estelle Espe-Chase

Estelle began taking an interest in her garden, after many years working in apparel manufacturing, when she realized that on some level, the same principles of good design could transform a landscape. She started taking classes at the Landscape Institute in 2002, and began to fast track her career by working weekends at a nursery doing plant sales and design. After taking Design I, Drafting and Construction Methods and Design II, she put together a portfolio of work and got a job at Weston Nurseries. Her portfolio, plus the work she did at Weston, allowed her to leave the apparel industry and work full time as a landscape designer. Today, she is the owner of Garden Mates, LLC, a landscape design/build company that she describes as "challenging and rewarding."
