Leslie-jon A. Vickory
Beginning as a Fine Arts major, Leslie-jon ultimately gave in to her love of construction--completing the Building Construction/Architecture program at Dean College in 1993. Her first years in the industry were spent in the field, initially a site supervisor, project coordinator and ultimately project manager. Since that time, Leslie-jon has developed 18 years of experience in nearly all facets of the design/build industry, from field supervision and project management of new home construction and renovations to kitchen and bath design, interiors and architectural planning.
Over the past two years, her work and studies have focused on Classical Architecture and European product and furniture design. Leslie-jon traveled to France to meet with the designers and craftsmen of furniture, draperies, custom doors and windows, and custom millwork, culminating in the installation of finishes and custom designed and crafted furnishings from Paris and the Franche-Comté region of France for the interiors of a new home in Virginia. In Fall 2011, Leslie-jon will introduce a new course, A Place for Everything: Cabinetry Design Throughout the Home Studio, which will teach students how to combine creative, beautiful design solutions with functional needs.
Leslie-jon joined Boston Architectural College in 2007 as an instructor in the Kitchen and Bath Design Certificate Program, teaching K&B Construction Applications. She has also taught K&B Design Studio II and Advanced Bath Studio. She has just received Best Kitchen Design honors from Boston Magazine's Best of Boston 2011!
