- The Sustainable Design Institute
Canadian student, Scott Edwards completed his M.Arch at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He has lived in South East Asia with his wife and 11 year-old son for the past 12 years, first in Thailand and currently in Hanoi, Vietnam. In Hanoi, Scott worked as a designer, on a freelance basis, including LEED AP consulting. Scott found the architecture scene in Hanoi, for his purposes, to be less than ideal, so he engaged in part-time work at his son's school as the Sustainability Consultant, helping them to find ways to improve their facilities, operations and curriculum. This opportunity sparked Scott's interest in the educational side of sustainability. In Fall 2012 Scott enrolled in an online master's degree in Environmental Education and Interpretation at the University of Wisconsin. While enjoying his environmental education courses, Scott wanted to connect his interest in sustainability with his background in architecture. He has enrolled in the certificate in Sustainable Building Design & Construction, and expects that this will lead to a career in greening schools!
