Abstract: Long time colleagues at Ann Beha Architects, Ann Beha and Steven Gerrard will discuss essential aspects of their practice:

  • Dialogue: the dynamics of design collaboration
  • Method/Means/Materials: the investigation and response to context
  • Change and Continuity: unexpected and the expected outcomes

Three collaborative projects respond to the particularities of place and time, programs that are new and unexpected, resulting in a design response that generates change in habits, identity, and community.

Ann Beha, FAIA and Steven Gerrard, AIA have been collaborators at ABA for over 14 years. Based in Boston, Ann Beha Architects works nationally and internationally where consensus building, innovation, and sustainable outcomes are folded into complex educational and civic missions. The work of this 40-person firm is widely honored and published, and fosters collaboration and research as a basis for the practice.
