Professional Staff

Liz Stuhlsatz (Manager) has taught Research Writing at the BAC and tutored in the Learning Resource Center for several years. She received her Master's in English Literature at UMass-Boston. She likes Monty Python, plays a mean game of backgammon, and she is a competitive powerlifter chasing a 250-pound deadlift for her next meet.

Anthony Martinez (Writing Consultant) hails from Bakersfield, California, and has lived in Boston for the past six years. He holds a B.A. in English from Tufts University and is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College where he is completing a collection of short stories for his thesis. When he isn't teaching writing, he enjoys running and jazz.

John Taylor (Writing Consultant) holds a BA in English with an emphasis in Writing from Whitworth University (Spokane, WA). He is currently an MFA candidate for poetry at Emerson College where he teaches First Year Writing and works in the Writing and Academic Resource Center. He serves as the poetry editor for Redivider and the senior poetry reader at Ploughshares.

Chelsea Ursin (Writing Consultant) holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she also studied Sound Recording Technology, Biology, and English. She has worked as a research and writing intern for the WGBH program NOVA. She is currently a Creative Writing MFA candidate at Emerson College. Her proposed thesis is a book that will combine memoir and research to examine the intersections of feminist theory and rock and roll. She is also planning on pursuing a professional helicopter pilot's license (as soon as she finds the time and money).
