Meet the Academic Advising Team

Rebecca Chabot-Wieferich, Dean of Advising Services

Rebecca is originally from Michigan and received her M.Ed. degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from The University of Vermont. Prior to coming to the BAC Rebecca lived in Connecticut where she was the Transfer/Sophomore Mentor at Sacred Heart University. Rebecca started at the BAC as an Academic Advisor in 2008 and advanced to the Director role in the fall of 2012. Most recently she has taken on the role of Assistant Dean of Students where she also supervises the offices of Student Activities and Student Life. Rebecca enjoys working with students and is proud to be a member of the BAC community. In her free time she likes to be outside, enjoying activities such as snowshoeing and kayaking, with her family.

Karen was born and raised in Massachusetts and received her M.S.W. degree from the Simmons School of Social Work in Boston. Prior to joining the BAC's Academic Services Team, Karen spent three years at Bay State College as a Student Success Coordinator/Disability Support Services Coordinator. She has a passion for supporting and advocating for students and takes great pleasure in joining them as they celebrate their many successes. Karen enjoys spending time with her family, visiting warm places, and taking full advantage of every free moment to spend with her rambunctious pup, Toby!

Christina Liu, Academic Advisor and Writing Instructor

Christina earned her M.F.A. degree in Creative Writing and Publishing from Emerson College in 2003. She has taught and tutored at Emerson College and Berklee College of Music prior to becoming an Academic Advisor at the BAC. Here at the BAC, she teaches Expository Writing and Research Writing, in addition to her Advisor role. Christina is a published poet and has been the featured poet at various Boston and Cambridge venues including Stone Soup Poets, The Cantab Lounge, and The Lizard Lounge. She has also worked as a translator and outreach worker to the Asian community in Quincy, MA and served as an ESOL Counselor for Quincy Community Action Programs as well as Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.
