MBTA T-Pass Student Program

Discounted MBTA T-Passes are available to current BAC students on a semester basis. There are several options available and students save 11% off the MBTA's monthly fare prices. Students must pre-pay for the entire semester and order by mid-December for the spring semester and by the end of July for the fall semester.

The deadline for the fall 2014 semester pass is Monday, July 28, 2014 by 9am sharp. Due to deadlines set by the MBTA passes may not be ordered after this date.

To participate in the T-Pass program students must fill out the T-Pass Order Form and give it to the Student Life and Communications Coordinator, Greg Sikora, before the deadline. The Office of Student Life is located on the first floor of 320 Newbury Street in room 201. Students paying with a credit card can email completed order forms to greg.sikora@the-bac.edu. Forms may also be mailed to the following address:

Greg Sikora
Student Life and Communications Coordinator
320 Newbury Street, Rm 102
Boston, MA 02115

Payments may be made via credit card or personal check made out to "Boston Architectural College." Cash is not an acceptable means of payment.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Should I get a monthly T-Pass?
We advise students to determine how often they intend to travel on the T before purchasing a monthly pass. Those who use the T only a few days a week may not need to purchase a pass.

Zone 1A or LINK Pass?
This is a very common question as there is no difference in price, and not a large difference between the two when reading the description. We suggest students opt for the LINK Pass. This is because Zone 1A is a paper Charlie Ticket and if lost or damaged, cannot be replaced. The LINK Pass on the other hand is a plastic Charlie Card and if damaged or lost can be replaced without a problem. In addition, we have found that students rarely/never use the extra routes provided with the Zone 1A Pass.

Is there another option besides the monthly T-Pass?
The alternative to the monthly T-Pass is the CharlieCard. The CharlieCard is a 'smart card' that stores value for single or multiple-rides. You load the card with value using cash, credit / debit cards, or recharge online. CharlieCards are currently available for Subway and Bus use only. For more information on the CharlieCard vist the MBTA website. Students will be able to purchase a CharlieCard anytime during the semester at most T stations. Note: there is a discount for those who use a CharlieCard rather than a CharlieTicket.

Where and when do I pick up my monthly T-Pass?
All students who have ordered a T-Pass will be notified when passes are available for pick-up. Passes can be picked up at the Office of the Bursar located on the 3rd floor of 100 Mass Ave.

- Students who have ordered any of the bus passes or the Link pass only have to pick up a pass once at the beginning of the semester.
- Students who have ordered a Zone or Boat pass must pick up a new pass for each month. Students will be notified each month when passes are available for pick-up.
