Ever wonder what courses you're supposed to take? What will you be doing in class? How do you register for those courses? You've come to the right place. In Courses and Registration, you can find the curricula for the various degree programs, get links to course descriptions, and register for classes using Self-Service, the registration software. You can also learn about how to take classes at other nearby arts schools (known as the ProArts Consortium).
This is your one stop shop for registering for classes, viewing your grades and paying your bill! Instructions for registering online are available here.
If you are looking to take a class that isn't being offered that semester or if you were hoping to design a course that specific to you educational interests and needs, your best bet is an independent study. Learn more about how Independent Study works by clicking the link above!
Waitlists during Registration
During registration, the Registrar's office will be keeping waitlists for filled courses. During registration, if you are closed out of a course and would like to be placed on a waitlist, please contact the Registrar's office via email. Please do not call in with your request. You can only be added to the waitlist by written request. You may only place yourself on one waitlist per course (for example, you may place yourself on a waitlist for either the Tuesday night or Wednesday night of B-2 studio, but not both nights). In the meantime, it is important to find an alternate course that fits your schedule, in the event that your first choice remains unavailable. *Please note that registration for advanced architectural studios (Core 1, Core 2, and Workshops) will only occur through Studio Lottery. Waitlists will not be used for these courses.
Transfer Credits and Course Waivers
Students must have previous courses and work evaluated for transfer or waiver credits within their first year at the BAC. Students who still want transfer credits evaluated after their first year will be charged a $200 fee. Please allow five business days for evaluations. Students are encouraged to submit materials as soon as possible.
For more information about Transfer Credits and Course Waivers, check out the Transfer Credit page.
If you have any questions or need to submit materials related to transfer credits, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 617.585.0215. If you have any questions related to math, physics, or writing waivers, please contact email@example.com or 617.585.0174. For any questions related to waivers for visual studies courses, please contact your Academic Advisor.
