A message from Judy Nitsch, Chair, Presidential Search Committee, and Vice Chair, BAC Board of Trustees

Judy Nitsch

Dear BAC Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Administration, Trustees, and Overseers:

Since the last update a month ago, the BAC Presidential Search Committee has completed evaluating the BAC community's online surveys and used that data to finalize the candidate profile. The profile is now on the BAC website and is being used in the market.

The committee continues to work closely with our search partners at Spencer Stuart in identifying, researching, and assessing potential candidates for the BAC's next president. We have had a strong response from the BAC community in terms of nominations for the position, and we will continue to welcome your suggestions throughout the process. Please send your emails to BACPresident@SpencerStuart.com.

The search firm has been in touch with and had conversations with over 200 people relative to this opportunity and, through a rigorous process of evaluation, the committee has recently selected a talented, high-quality pool of candidates for further discussions and interviews. A top priority throughout these evaluations, the shortlisted pool selected is diverse, broadly defined, and representative of the overall BAC community.

Thank you for helping us shape the future of the BAC!

About the Search

The Boston Architectural College is performing a national search for a successor to President Glen LeRoy, FAIA, FAICP, who announced his retirement at the end of this academic year. The BAC is collaborating with Spencer Stuart, a national executive search firm with expertise in higher education.

The Board of Trustees has appointed 12 members to serve on the Presidential Search Committee. Chaired by Judith Nitsch, Vice Chair, Board of Trustees, the committee is comprised of a cross-section of the BAC community, including governance, faculty, alumni, and the student body.

The search committee will work closely with the Spencer Stuart team. Members of the BAC community have opportunities to share input, through a variety of methods, ensuring this process incorporates multiple viewpoints. BAC community members are encouraged to share confidential feedback and nominations directly with Spencer Stuart.
