Dr. Kelly Josephson has extensive experience in higher education leadership with expertise in strategic data analytics. She enjoys engaging with people and teams to purposefully analyze data—uncovering new knowledge in order to translate institutional vision into action.
Prior to joining the BAC, Kelly was Dean of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research at Northern Essex Community College where she launched a data warehouse and visual analytics platform. Using data from these systems, she facilitated dialogues with faculty and staff around equity-minded teaching, learning, and student support services. Working collaboratively, they were able to analyze and reform policies, practices and teaching techniques that were under-serving students.
With a career spanning institutions around the globe, Kelly’s responsibilities have included integrated planning, analytics and business intelligence, enrollment management, information technology, recruitment, admissions and registration, organizational development and project management.
Kelly received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan; Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Calgary with a research area of solution-focused strategic planning in higher education. She is also a certified professional leadership coach—working towards certification in relationship, team and systems coaching.
Additional areas of professional interest include coaching in higher education, equity and inclusion, successful strategy execution, generative (appreciative) inquiry, organizational innovation as well as employee engagement and quality management systems focused on excellence and leadership development.
