Mark Rukamathu, AIA, joined The Boston Architectural College in 2018 as faculty and director of Special Projects. He brings a wide range of experience in design, project management, professional practice, and fabrication in residential, retail, commercial, and institutional project types.
Before the BAC, Mark co-founded the design/fabrication practice rukamathu.smith, where he designed and personally fabricated complex custom furniture pieces, fixtures, installations, and interiors for company and institution clients in the Boston area. He has also worked at offices in Boston and Arkansas - including Merge Architects, Marlon Blackwell Architects, William Rawn Associates, ADD Inc. (now Stantec), and Spann Architecture. Mark has taught as an adjunct instructor at various architecture programs, including Northeastern University (NEU), Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Roger Williams University (RWU), and spent three years as a full-time faculty member at Chulalongkorn University's International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA).
Mark received his Bachelor of Architecture, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas in 2003, and his Master of Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, with distinction, in 2013.
