PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Due to the ongoing health crisis, We sincerely regret the need to postpone the commencement ceremonies for Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd 2020. Our highest priority is to maintain the health and wellness of students, families, as well as faculty and staff.  We are working to find alternate dates and venues for in-person celebrations for the class of 2020 and their families. We will develop plans based on input from the entire BAC Community and we will do everything possible to create a celebratory and memorable in-person event for our 2020 graduates and families. Thank you for your dedication, your creativity, and your support of one another and our mission as we navigate through these uncertain time.

Commencement Eve Awards Ceremony

Boston Architectural College
Undergraduate Award Ceremony held in the "Beehive" at 951 Boylston Street
Graduate Award Ceremony held in Cascieri Hall at 320 Newbury Street
6:00pm Scholarship and Awards Reception, McCormick Gallery
7:00-8:30pm Presentation of awards

Commencement activities will begin with a special awards ceremony to recognize student achievements. This event will begin with refreshments in the BAC's McCormick Gallery and is an opportunity to view the impressive thesis and degree project work of our graduates. Separate award ceremonies for undergraduate & graduate students will then be held in the Beehive at 951 Boylston Street & Cascieri Hall at 320 Newbury Street.  All are welcome to participate. Please be aware seating is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Commencement Day Ceremonies

Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury Street, Boston, MA and Back Bay Events Center - John Hancock Hall, 180 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA
10:00am - Graduates arrive for the Alumni Brunch
11:00am - Graduates participating in the ceremonies are required to check -in at the Loft and given their diploma ID card, beret and BAC pin
11:45am - Graduates meet outside for a class photo
12:00pm - Graduates line up for parade
12:15pm - Parade process down Newbury Street to the venue (Trolley for guests and those in need)
12:50-1:00pm - Stage party and Graduates process into the venue
1:00-3:00pm - Commencement Ceremonies
3:00pm - Immediately following the ceremony Graduates may pick up their diploma at the venue

Important Information for Graduates

Regalia

Orders required

Friday, May 22, 2020 - Regalia robing
Graduates will be emailed information on how to place their order for regalia and ticket requests during the Spring semester.
Please be reminded tickets are limited due to seating capacity at the venue.  Orders for regalia and tickets are required to be placed by April 2020.
You will receive information regarding picking up your regalia prior to Commencement.


BAC Commencement Diploma Pickup
Friday, May 22, 2020
John Hancock Hall, Back Bay Events Center
Immediately following the commencement ceremony, students will be able to pick up thier diploma at the Back Bay Events Center.

BAC Class Ring
Honor your hard work with the BAC ring. Available in various styles and finishes, the design of the BAC ring incorporates the Cascieri beehive. The beehive is a symbol of the BAC's mission, designed with Dean Cascieri's ideal of community and work toward the common good.

Weekend Planning

Parking and Transportation
Trolley service will be available on Friday, May 22 to transport guests between the Back Bay Events Center and the BAC. Metered parking is available on Newbury Street and surrounding streets. Garage parking may also be available at:

  • Pilgrim Parking, 50 Dalton Street
  • Prudential Center Garage, 800 Boylston Street

Accommodations
There are various hotels located nearby the BAC and the Back Bay Events Center in the Back Bay neighborhood. It is recommended that accommodations be reserved as soon as possible. A listing of local hotels can be found here.

Dinner Reservations
There are numerous restaurants located in the Back Bay neighborhood. If you are interested in having dinner after the commencement ceremony, it is recommended that you make reservations in advance. A listing of local restaurants can be found here.
