City Lab Intensive Fall 2014

City Lab Intensive is an orientation experience for all entering undergraduate and graduate students as an introduction to the stimulating foundation year. Interdisciplinary teams work alongside two instructors and engage in a series of hands-on and reflective exercises centered around the exploration of the Rose Kennedy Greenway and adjacent commercial and residential districts.

Students engage with one another to explore, discuss, and analyze Boston's buildings and open space over the course of two consecutive Friday/Saturday excursions. Activities and exercises are combined with guest speakers who have pertinent knowledge and experience of particular sites and/or community development.  The City Lab Intensive is an introduction to concurrent education at the BAC. Students experience discovery and analysis, and develop curiosity and an appreciation for learning outside the classroom in a personal, applied manner, where collaboration and effective communication is essential.
