Summer Academy Dwelling Project

2010

This investigation starts with abstract ideas of space and volume and through experimentation with different spatial configurations, asks you to consider how one might occupy a dwelling or home. Each student constructs forms from a "kit of parts" as they learn techniques of architectural model construction. Starting with the common built forms, each student then manipulates those components to build a model of a unique house. The dwelling projects take shape as each student re-constructs the "kit of parts" forms to construct inventive dwellings that serve the needs of a specific client and his or her household requirements.
