John Furlong

John Furlong, a landscape architect, teacher, and lecturer, travels widely studying the design and development of gardens and built landscapes. His professional landscape architecture practice ranged from urban and campus planning to park and residential design. His research focuses on landscape perception and memory. He is emeritus director, Landscape Institute, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University; cited by the trustees of Radcliffe College as Distinguished Radcliffe Instructor; Fellow, American Society of Landscape Architects; recipient, Gold Medal, Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
