The Maurice F. Childs Endowed Lectureship was established in 2008 at the Boston Architectural College (BAC) in memory of Maurice F. Childs, a dedicated preservationist and celebrated architect who co-founded the Boston-based architectural firm Childs, Bertman & Tseckares Inc (CBT). The BAC and CBT have a long professional and personal history together: CBT co-founders Maurice Childs, Richard Bertman, and Charles Tseckares all taught at the BAC, along with many other firm employees. CBT has employed several BAC students and alumni. CBT's principals have served on the BAC's Board of Trustees.
The Maurice F. Childs Endowed Lectureship was created to honor Mr. Childs' commitment to the education of architecture and design and his lifelong contributions to the BAC and its students in perpetuity. Income from this endowed fund will enable The Boston Architectural College to fund an annual lecture, including but not limited to speaker honorarium and travel, reception, dinner, and promotion. Maurice F. Childs Lecturers will be selected annually by the BAC, in consultation with CBT, from a diverse group of thought leaders in the architecture, design, and allied professions.
It is our goal to increase the endowment fund to $150,000 to enable the BAC to attract a distinguished lecturer annually. Please consider making a gift to the Maurice F. Childs Endowed Lectureship.
