Banyan Park is a 23-acre technology campus for Tata Consultancy Services, located on a wooded site in Mumbai. Working with Brinda Somaya of Somaya & Kalappa Consultants, they studied the arts, architecture, and local crafts of India to better root the project in its specific culture and context. Modern adaptations of local techniques and the use of indigenous materials add character and beauty to the campus and emphasize the sense of place that is particular to India.

Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, Hon’22, co-founded their eponymous New York architecture studio in 1986. Their practice is committed to reflecting the values of non-profit, cultural and academic institutions through an architecture that is serene and enduring. A sense of rootedness, light, texture, detail, and most of all, experience, are at the heart of what they design. Their dedication to this work has been recognized by numerous citations including the Praemium Imperiale from the Japan Art Association, the National Medal of Arts from President Obama, and the 2013 AIA Architecture Firm Award. In parallel with their practice, Tod and Billie maintain active academic careers and lecture worldwide.
Paul Schulhof joined TWBTA in 1999 and became the firm’s third partner in the practice in 2013. Paul has overseen a wide range of institutional and residential projects including the Obama Presidential Center, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, and notably the 23 acre technology campus for Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai, India. He received his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia. He has participated in numerous design award programs and panels, and has lectured across the U.S. on topics including craftsmanship, campus building through community engagement, creative visioning and sustainability initiatives.
As educators and practitioners, they are steadfast in their shared mission to create a better, more equitable world through architecture.
