Bridgette Wallace
Founder and Executive Director, G{Code} House

Bridgette Wallace is the Founder and Executive Director of G{Code} House. With a professional background in public policy and urban planning, Bridgette has been extensively working with nonprofit organizations since the late 1990s. That work, coupled with her experience in community development in the public sector as well as her involvement in housing and workforce development projects, led to the inspiration to start something impactful of her own. Bridgette ultimately made the decision to develop a full-service tech pipeline nonprofit that targets BIPOC young women and non binary folks seeking careers in tech. Teaming up with like-minded associates, G{Code} was launched in 2018.

Since the very beginning, Bridgette's vision for G{Code} has been to reduce barriers to opportunity by creating a safe, affirming and curated living, learning and working space for BIPOC women and non-binary folks. G{Code} aims to empower its changemakers with the training, skills, and support to cultivate an interest and aptitude in tech and empower their pursuit of technical careers. The goal is to reduce barriers to entry, while building the changemakers' confidence to grow and excel in tech. That vision is fulfilled in G{Code}'s comprehensive, participant-based approach to helping these students get trained, supported, and immersed in a life-long community that provides ongoing mentoring services to both participants and alums.

Over the course of her 25+ years in the nonprofit and public service sector space, Bridgette also matches her passion with action through other ways of community involvement. She currently serves as board and project review committee member for numerous development projects in the Roxbury area.

In her personal life, Bridgette is a sci-fi enthusiast, traveler, and researcher, and she lives in Roxbury. She is a proud mother to her daughter who works as a Senior Consultant for a tech company in New York.

Education: Masters MPP/UEP, Tufts University, 2011
