Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Minnis, AIA Emeritus, B.Arch'89, is an architect and planner with over 35 years of experience. Her skills, professionalism, and dedication were applied for over 25 years to enhance the quality of Massachusetts’ public built environment at the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM). Liz led teams to plan, design, and construct facilities for the Commonwealth that are of the highest quality design and function, elevating the civic presence and public service of facilities to meet the mission of the state government. She developed a team of highly qualified managers and support staff, building strong partnerships with Commonwealth leadership and working collaboratively with architectural/engineering design and construction teams. Before DCAMM, Liz practiced architecture in local firms that were focused on public projects and housing work.
Liz received a Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University.
She was the 2012 Chair and served 5 years on the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice (AAJ) Advisory Group. She has moderated and delivered presentations on several topics related to sustainability, DEI and justice planning issues. She is an Emeritus member of the Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) and served on the BSA’s nominating committee and the Board as Director at Large. She is a member of the Board of Trustees at of the Boston Architectural College.
Liz retired from DCAMM in May of 2023 and is volunteering with Partakers, C4RJ, Massachusetts Parole Preparation Partnership, and WELL (Women’s Exchange for Leadership and Living) while also traveling, gardening, and having fun.
