Jose Castro-Rodriguez, M.Arch’24, earned a Master of Architecture Online from The Boston Architectural College. For more than 13 years, he has been a public servant for the Federal Government, beginning his career with the United States Air Force Civilian Service as an architectural intern before transitioning to a Construction and Project Manager for the General Services Administration. Throughout his career, he has contributed to national security projects and advanced policy developments to improve public infrastructure for different areas within the Federal Government.

In addition, Jose is committed to mentoring Federal employees through Civil Service, guiding them to obtain the required experience needed for professional registration in architecture, interior design, and engineering. He continues to be a strong advocate for architecture students working toward licensure.

Jose’s passion lies in disaster relief and the role architecture can play in it. He is a registered Greyshirt volunteer with Team Rubicon, a non-profit disaster response organization, and serves as a Surge Capacity Force volunteer with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). His Master’s Thesis, which explored the intersection of architecture and disaster relief, was honored with a Thesis Excellence Award.
