Tatjana Crossley’s presentation explores how virtual reality reshapes the design and experience of space by functioning not just as a contemporary technical tool but as a cultural and psychological environment with a long historical lineage that influences perception, identity, and embodiment.
Drawing from her forthcoming book and a range of her projects, she examines how designing immersion challenges traditional notions of place and subjectivity while opening possibilities for more engaged and multisensory architectural practices.
Her lecture situates VR within the broader history of architectural theory, arguing that it extends core architectural concerns and enables new forms of spatial experience that can transform how we see, feel, and inhabit the world.
Thank you to those who joined us in person and virtually on January 13, 2026, to kick off the 2026 Spring Lecture Series.
