Welcome to the Boston Architectural College! We are happy to have you join our diverse and dynamic students community! The Office of Student Life is happy to kick off you BAC experience with New Student Orientation, a week-long series of social activities, welcoming conversations, and helpful resources to get you started on the right foot.

Sunday, August 15
2PM – Connect with your Orientation Leaders! – A current student who is assigned as your Orientation Leader will be reaching out to you to give you someone to ask questions to, guide you through your Orientation process, and help you get virtually acclimated to the BAC community. Check your BAC email for messages from them!
4PM – Drop-In Hours: Office of Student Life – Meet OSL Staff, Zach and Charlotte, and ask questions about getting involved, housing, and student activities
Monday, August 16
12PM - Welcome – listen to Dean of Students, Rich Griswold, and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vic Liptak, welcome you to the BAC Campus and to New Student Orientation
12:30PM – Getting Started: Enrollment, Support, and the Launch – Join Rebecca Chabot-Wieferich, Dean of Advising, and Michael Daniels, Director of Foundation Student Support, as they go over an n overview of your degree requirements and enrollment options, the resources and support at the BAC, and getting into and through your first semester
2:30PM – Getting Started: Navigating the Virtual Classroom – In this session, new students will be able to ask questions regarding the technology they will encounter in their first semester, such as Moodle, Zoom, and the BAC Cloud Canopy
5PM - Parent Session – this is a chance for Parents to ask questions to Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, Rebecca Chabot-Wieferich!
6PM – Social Activity with Orientation Leaders - our student Orientation Leaders are here facilitate social time so you can get to know your fellow BAC students!
Tuesday, August 17
8AM – Abroad Student Social – Join Orientation Leaders in a social activity for those in different time zones. Get to know your peers and learn more about current BAC students!
10AM – International Student Informational Session (IN PERSON) - International Student Advisor, Maria Jenkins, is here to talk about F1 Visas, the immigration process, and getting acclimated to the BAC!
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON SESSION. If you have any questions, please reach out to the International Student Advisor, Maria Jenkins, International Student Admission Counselor, Jenn Stanley.
12PM – Drop-In Hours: Advising – use this time to connect with the advising team, finalize your schedule, and ask any questions regarding courses!
2PM – Drop-In Hours: IT – members from the IT department are here to answer your questions regarding anything technology!
4PM – Drop-In Hours: Health Insurance & Operations – Chat with the Operations team about getting enrolled in student health insurance and set up an appointment!
5PM Transfer Student Info Session about Alumni Mentorship.
Incoming transfer students have special advantages and concerns that come along with their advanced standing in their programs. Those with more than ten transfer credits are invited to an optional conversation about mentorship. Specifically, the BAC is beginning an A BAC Student-Alumni Mentorship Program aimed at welcoming you into the BAC professional community by connecting you to graduates who know it best. After a short presentation, there will be time for your questions and ideas about your BAC start. Your participation will help shape this new initiative. We look forward to seeing you, but this Zoom conversation will be recorded for those who cannot attend live.

Wednesday, August 18

6PM – Social Activity with Orientation Leaders - our student Orientation Leaders are here facilitate social time so you can get to know your fellow BAC students!
Thursday, August 19
10AM – Drop-In Hours: Office of Student Life – Meet OSL Staff, Zach and Charlotte, and ask questions about getting involved, housing, and student activities
12:30PM – Firm Panel Discussions – Join the practice department and architectural firms located across the country to learn about office culture, professional projects, and much more!
2PM – Meet the Deans – This is your chance to talk to your key faculty to ask questions about your courses and culture in your academic life
4PM – Convocation w/ President Daas - Closing out our five days of events is President Mahesh Daas, offering well wishes for you semester!
