Shannon Rosa Arvizu Appointed Chief of Staff to the President at The Boston Architectural College

We are pleased to announce Shannon Rosa Arvizu has been appointed as Chief of Staff to the President.

Since joining the BAC in 2020, Shannon has served as Senior Executive Assistant to the President, taking on increasingly complex responsibilities within the President’s Office and providing critical administrative support to the Board of Trustees. Her leadership and organizational expertise have played a key role in the success of numerous initiatives and operations, while also being a trusted advisor to many across the College.

In her new role as Chief of Staff, Shannon will oversee the President’s Office operations and provide operational oversight for all activities originating from the office. She will also take on greater responsibility for managing strategic initiatives, including the Social Justice initiative, to ensure these projects align with the BAC’s long-term vision. Shannon will lead the coordination of the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, helping to integrate these values throughout all areas of the institution. As the BAC continues to grow and scale, Shannon will be instrumental in streamlining internal operations, providing essential coordination from the President’s Office, and enabling the BAC to pursue more ambitious projects. This will allow President Mahesh Daas to focus on advancing the institution to greater heights.

Shannon brings with her a strong academic background and extensive experience in higher education administration. She holds an M.A. in Theatre Education and Community Outreach from Emerson College, along with dual B.A. degrees in English and Theatre Arts from Stonehill College. Before joining the BAC, she served as Assistant Dean of Faculty at Hampshire College, where she managed faculty development, onboarding, and strategic projects, and oversaw the organization of key events such as commencement. Her diverse skill set and dedication to the mission of higher education have made her an invaluable asset to the BAC.
