The Boston Architectural College congratulates and thanks Lucca Townsend, Master of Architecture candidate at the BAC, for completing the 2015 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20 and raising thousands of dollars to benefit the BAC Fund and the success of her peers.

Lucca is an inspiration to the BAC community. After months of training in the snowiest winter in Boston's history, she prevailed in rain and successfully completed the 119th running of the Boston Marathon. Lucca received the support of BAC students, staff, faculty, as well as the local architecture and design community throughout her training and fundraising to reach her goal on marathon Monday.

The Boston Marathon course runs directly beside the Boston Architectural College on Hereford Street and the entire community joined together to make encouraging signs for Lucca to display in the College's large gallery windows.

Lucca was the first to apply to run after a call for applications went out in January. In her application she noted running as a way to keep her life in balance, concentrate, and dream.

"My best studio ideas have come about and matured while running," Lucca explained. "I have dreamed of running the marathon as a way of reflecting and supporting my BAC community."

Please join us in congratulating and thanking Lucca.
