The Boston Architectural College (BAC) is pleased to announce that Christina Oliver '90 has been inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame in recognition of her exceptional work, influence and community involvement. The New England Design Hall of Fame honors individuals who have led especially significant careers in residential design in New England.

Christina earned a certificate in Interior Design from the BAC in 1990 after an accomplished career in social work, a background that was the key to creating the highly collaborative environment that has become the signature of her practice, Oliver Interiors, LLC. It turns out, social work and interior design are not too far removed; Christina's skill for listening to what clients want and translating that into personal spaces has contributed greatly to her success.

For Christina, her professional successes are notable, and have truly had an impact on the design community. From retaining clients who return to work with her again and again, to helping pass the Interior Design Legislation in Massachusetts this summer, her achievements have been monumental. With the passing of the Interior Design Legislation, which is the first time that interior designers are written into the law as design professionals in MA, interior designers can now bid on state projects.

"Throughout my design career, it has been important that I have professional credentials as an interior designer," said Christina. "I chose to earn those credentials at the BAC because the College's unique curriculum allowed me to take classes and work full time."

Since being inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame just a few weeks ago, Christina has continued to dedicate her time to helping improve and advance the field for future designers. She recently took part in a Future Vision process for Council in Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) to reflect on the standards needed for educating interior designers for the years 2017-2025, where she was the only sole proprietor and residential designer at the session.

In the wake of her induction into the New England Design Hall of Fame, Christina also plans to go sailing with her husband and dance as much as she can.
