Design your environment

The Landscape Institute

The Landscape Institute offers courses that explore new topics in landscape and planting design, horticulture, landscape history, and preservation and conservation. Courses are open to the public for continuing education or to explore areas of personal interest.

The Institute has a long history, beginning in 1966 as a series of seminars at Radcliffe College. When Radcliffe merged with Harvard University in 1999, the Institute was adopted by the Arnold Arboretum. Under this new partnership, the Institute increased its focus on issues of sustainability and preservation and broadened its offerings to include plant science, ecology, and land use. In 2009, the Landscape Institute partnered with the BAC to offer expanded continuing education.
