Bellalta shares the political and spatial foundations for a renewed vision of urbanization that promotes environmental and social justice for rapidly expanding cities of the Global South. Social Urbanism: On the Ground reveals firsthand experiences informing her recent publication: Social Urbanism —Reframing Spatial Design - Discourses from Latin America.

Fall Lecture Series: Bishakh Som

This lecture will be a tour across Bishakh Som’s career in drawing, starting from a love of comics, moving through the era of hand-drawing in architecture school, navigating the perils of professional practice, and culminating in her current focus on graphic novels, illustration, and paintings. Som continues to use drawing as a tool to explore the possibilities of form and space-making and to investigate the overlap between architectural representation, comics, and other graphic arts.
