Michael Schanbacher

Master of Architecture, Rice University

Michael Schanbacher has a deep background in practice and teaching accumulated over the last 10 years. He received the H Russell Pitman Traveling Fellowship while studying at Rice University and traveled the southwestern United States, visiting forgotten military experiments and land art. Since graduating he has worked at Schwartz/Silver Architects, where he has served as project designer/architect on a variety of projects from 125,000 sf arts building at Trinity College to a security pavilion for a Federal building in Jackson, Mississippi. He began teaching at the BAC in the Foundation program. He has sat on juries at multiple architecture schools including Rice University, University of Michigan, and Northeastern University.
